flying lines for zero and light wind kites
zero.4-5-6-7 flying lines
the high quality braided spectra flying lines are produced specifically for our zero wind single line kites. they are not included with our kites, that's why you can choose the appropriate line for your flights. short lines come on a microwinder, 100 m or longer on a bobbin or reel.

interface to the kite
active synergetic kites are developed for one primary aspect: 3d flying without wind, or, with a tiny bit too. for this purpose we use the hi-tec zero.x flying lines made of spectra. because of the direct contact to the kite we like to call them "wire", or in german "kabel".
you can reach very high altitudes with a long way home and a zero.6 kite line. but a zero.7 line offers a better handling in flights up to 200 m: it has a cool grip and as it is stiffer and clearly visible, so you can sort the line well on the ground.
similar for the urban ninja kite or a dt superleggera: for high flights a zero.5 is the right choice, for playing around attach a zero.6, and for confined urban flights such as in a courtyard on asphalt, you may use a short zero.7 kite line. light indoor kites like the rolling stone ul feel pretty comfortable on short, rather heavy lines too.
subjective or situational aspects will play a role in choosing the line for a flight: the handling of a heavier kite line will be agreable in a relaxed low wind flight, while a thin, light string helps to maximize the efficiency of the kite without any wind.

long or short lines
short flying lines on microwinder are handy at flights in the city, indoor or maybe on stage. lay out the whole length, as 20 m, on the ground, remove the winder from the line and put it into your pocket. this way you won't have any problems with the line on the ground.
flying with a long line on the spool, lay something like 40 m sorted onto the ground. place the spool on the ground, the handle knob side looking downwards, and take away the line upwards from the spool. after the flight, hold the spool by the handle and with the other hand, reel the line onto the spool.
doing so, the line is reeled out and in always from the same side, and will not be twisted permanently.
zero kite line features
light ....... high-viz yellow for visibility on grass, rocks, sand or asphalt and in the air in any weather ....... lowest elongation supports crisp inputs to the kite, for high and elegant flights without wind ....... agreable cool grip, no slipping when wet ....... minimal increase of the weight in the rain, impregnated ....... low memory effect: rolled out, the lines are straight, even with rather small reels or spools ....... high tolerance to twist in the line avoids knots on the ground, supporting relaxed flights ....... the stronger the line, the smoother is the surface to reduce drag ....... durable and resistent to abrasive surfaces like sand and asphalt, sturdy and long-lasting ....... upon request, any lenghts are available as one piece.
